Where we came from…

Our story starts in the 1980’s when as senior hospitality executives, Alan Hogg & Thomas Graham occasionally required the assistance of professional Recruitment Consultants. Fast-forward to 2016, with those experiences in mind and with a sole objective of “operating in recruitment as the client would want us to operate”, Global Personnel Solutions (G.P.S.) were born.

G.P.S. are a forward-thinking, full-service Executive and Management Recruitment Consultancy, with over 100 years industry experience in the Hospitality; IT & Technology; Healthcare; Conference & Events; Leisure, Sports & Fitness; Travel; Retail and, Finance industries recruiting and the placement of numerous positions from Chief Executives and General Managers to Executive Chefs and Chief Technical Officers.

Sandra and Tom believe in their honest, transparent, and confidential processes that will support the Candidate from the application and CV to the interview and after-start follow up; indeed, many of our clients today were candidates previously.

Alan and the Team will work closely and in the long-term with our Clients, assisted by our worldwide network of Industry Sector Specialists, to offer Bespoke Human Solutions and to mentor, assist, and work beside our clients, helping them achieve their goals.

Company (MSHTS)

Global Personnel Solutions (G.P.S.) is committed to ensuring that all of its business operations are free from involvement with slavery or human trafficking.  This policy ensures that G.P.S. complies with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and sets out the responsibilities for employers and employees.

Organisational Structure

G.P.S. operates as one company, involved in a number of industries: Hospitality including Hotels, Restaurants, Casinos, Night Clubs & Bars; IT & Technology including Directors, Developers, Analysts; Architects & Engineers; Healthcare including Hospitals, Care Homes & Private Medical Facilities; Conference & Events including Music Arenas, Sports Stadia & Private Clubs; Leisure, Sports & Fitness including Wellbeing, Fitness, Sports & Spa Facilities; Travel including Airlines, Cruise Ships & Rail Companies; Retail including Management, Logistics & Purchasing; Finance including Directors, Controllers & Auditors.

Company Services 

G.P.S. provides executive search and recruitment consultancy services within its operational industries, mainly at the following levels: Board Members; Senior Executives; Management Executives; General Management; Departmental Management.

Supply Chain

G.P.S. also expects the same high standards from all of its suppliers, contractors and other business partners, and expects that its suppliers will, in turn, hold their own suppliers to the same standards.  G.P.S. accepts that it has a responsibility through its due diligence processes to ensure that workers are not being exploited, that they are safe and that relevant employment, health and safety and human rights laws and standards are being adhered to, including freedom of movement and communications.

Company Policies

G.P.S. has policies in place that describe its approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking in its operations.

  • All members of staff have a responsibility to prevent, detect and report any instances of slavery and trafficking. Anyone who has concerns regarding acts or potential acts of slavery and trafficking should speak to the Operations Director.
  • The organisation’s code of conduct makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the organisation.
  • The organisation strives to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour when operating abroad and managing its supply chain.
  • G.P.S. is required to comply with all the laws and regulations of the countries in which they operate.
  • G.P.S. complies with discrimination legislation concerning colour, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, race, religion or religious belief, nationality, disability or ethnic or national origin, religious belief, age, disability.
  • G.P.S. does not condone any form of corrupt or unethical behaviour in business dealings. Employees are prohibited from offering or accepting any bribes, gifts or facilitation payments.
  • All employees are treated with dignity and respect. 
  • Any level of harassment or bullying is totally unacceptable.
  • All our employees are paid at least the National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage and have the right to work in the UK or the equivalent in the country in which they live/represent G.P.S.
  • G.P.S. ensures strict compliance checks are carried for all candidates it supplies to verify their right to work.

Due Diligence

G.P.S. undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly reviews its existing suppliers.

Responsibility for the Policy

The Managing Director of G.P.S. has overall responsibility for ensuring that this policy complies with the Company’s legal and ethical obligations.  The Operations Director of G.P.S. has day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness and auditing internal control systems and policies and procedures to ensure they are effective in preventing or remediating the risk of modern slavery. They are also responsible for investigating allegations of modern slavery in the Company’s business or supply chains.  All Company Directors are responsible for ensuring that those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy.

Training and Communication

G.P.S. provides training for all employees who are involved in the supply chain on issues relating to slavery and human trafficking.  The Company’s zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors and other business partners when entering into new or renewed contracts with them and this statement will be up to date and published on the company website (www.gpsuk.org).

Breach of the Policy

Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, up to and including summary dismissal for gross misconduct.  G.P.S. may terminate its commercial relationship with suppliers, contractors and other business partners if they breach this policy and/or are found to have been involved in modern slavery.

Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes G.P.S.’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2020.
